Second grade (2nd) has been using line, shape, and color to develop pattern with weaving and now Owls. We watched The Little White Owl storybook and used a few owl books for inspiration.
We've been gradually working our way into the beginning of Winter with a few brightly colored projects. I like to keep the hallway a little brighter in the Winter months. January we'll concentrate more on snow and ice. Here's a few of the art pieces we're working on that will also be part of the Art to Remember Fundraiser in the spring. Fifth grade (5th) has been working on Andy Warhol inspired self-portraits. Using basic outlines in ink and watercolor/acrylic backgrounds. The nice bright colors contrast well with the lines that make up the students' face.
